 # 1. CHRIST, THE PRIMARY MYSTERY. The coming of Jesus as the Messiah into the world was not an after thought on the part of God, neither did He have to implement plan B when Adam disappointed God by rejecting the Spiritual Covenant. God foresaw and had already prepared for this development long before it occurred. The Messiah had interposed His life’s blood to redeem mankind. For the Messiah was foreknown before the foundation of the world, 1 Pet. 1:20. The coming and ministry of The Messiah {the anointed One} Himself was God’s greatest mystery {Col. 1:13—26, 2:2, 4:3}. And He is, indeed the primary mystery of the revelation of 1 Thess. 4:13-17. And yet His second coming in this group of Scripture is left WANTING.

“BUT I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that you sorrow not, even as others which have no hope”.

# 2.   Was it not the Holy Spirit who revealed the Mysteries of the prophets of God to the Apostles? Did not the Messiah say to the Apostles before His death. ”But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said to you”. John 14:26, and again, “Howbeit when He, the Holy Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come”, John 16:13.

# 3.   Therefore, do we not have an example of the Holy Spirit giving utterances to the Apostles in Acts 2:4ff? I suggest that thus far we have evidence that the Holy Spirit was the Author of the whole New Testament with no exceptions. IS THAT NOT TRUE?

With no reservations we now can go back to 1 Thess. 4:13, and perhaps give light to the phrase, “I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren.

A.  What is the opposite of ignorance?

B.  Knowledge. Knowledge of what? God’s Word concerning the whole Gospel of Christ.

Until the Holy Spirit had revealed the Mysteries of God through the chosen Apostles, no one except Abraham had ever had the Gospel of Christ revealed to them; however, God foresaw that the Gentiles would be saved, therefore, He, God preached the Gospel to His servant Abraham, Gal. 3:8.

C. After the Holy Spirit revealed all rules, regulations, and His government to the Apostles Mankind was commanded to study these revelations, 2 Tim. 2:15, and then, the Holy Spirit made sure that man would not insert his own rules and doctrines by saying, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness”, 2 Tim. 3:16.

I suggest that these Scriptures are a direct link to 1 Thess. 4:13-17, as well as an URGENT plea to all Elders of the Church when the Holy Spirit gave the qualifications for Elders to meet. “An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable hospitable, ABLE TO TEACH”. Able to have knowledge of all Scripture, which is inspired by God, able to discuss without reservations any and all Scripture within God’s Word, able to discuss what people today refer to as controversy, difference of opinions. To do so the Elder must have a firm BELIEF and KNOWLEDGE of every Scripture uttered by the Holy Spirit, regardless of what man believes and teaches. God intended the Elder to be a leader, a pattern for others to follow. Be able to go to 1 Thess. 4:13-17, and teach what the Holy Spirit revealed about this Mystery If he cannot; then he does not need to be an Elder. He does not have the right to become a YES man for the preacher. Many Elders is chosen because of wealth, popularity, good looks, dresses well; such is not the God given Qualifications for His leaders.

# 4.   I suggest that the Holy Spirit in 1 Thess. 4:13, is making preparations for the revealing of events that the people has not heard before. Therefore, prepare yourself, do not be like those who disbelieved the Messiah, and had no hope in the commonwealth of God, rather believe brethren, these were those who did have hope, and who did believe in the risen Messiah, these would understand the hard things of the following verses, The Spiritual things of God.

A.  A link to understanding is found in 1 Cor. 15:23, The Holy Spirit reassured the    Christians at Corinth of the reality of the Messiah and His resurrection, He further instructed them that there would be other resurrections, other than the one of Matt. 26: 51-53, which in turn was those that the Messiah redeemed and delivered in Heb. 2:14-15. The next resurrection will be “those who are The Messiah’s at His coming {Parousia}, those who have fallen asleep in the Messiah.

B.  1 Thess. 2:19, 3:13, 5:23, indicates that the Church of the Thessalonians were eagerly awaiting the coming of the Messiah {Parousia}. There is no place in the Scriptures where a third coming is mentioned. The second coming as is taught by some would be seven years before the {Parousia} taught in 1 Thess. 3:13, as the second coming.

C. 1.Thess. 2:19,  “For who is our hope or joy or crown of exultation? Is it not even you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming? The Messiah will be returning during their lifetime and in that generation Luke 21:32, Matt. 24:28-34, if they go asleep; they will be asleep in the Messiah, and when He comes they will be in His presence, 1 Thess. 3:13.

D.  1 Thess. 3:13, “So that He may establish your hearts unblameable in holiness before OUR GOD and FATHER at the coming of our Lord Jesus with ALL HIS SAINTS”.

E. I suggest that this is the real “PAROUSIA” that we find in 1 Thess. 3:13, the Messiah here is coming, and this is connected with 1 Cor. 15:23, “But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming”. Indeed this is the coming of Christ with all His saints, notice 1 Thess. 3:11, herein lies the Beginning of the revealing of this Mystery, first the Holy Spirit is saying through the Apostle, “NOW” not two thousand years later, “NOW” in the first Century, “may our God and Father Himself AND Jesus our Lord direct our way to you”. First, notice here that God The Father, HIMSELF, is mentioned here first, WHY? God the Father, Himself is to show that God is the higher of the two; otherwise Jesus would have been mentioned first, this is done in such way as to separate the “coming” of Jesus from the coming of God. We have both the Messiah and God mentioned here: but only the Lord Jesus {the lower class} coming with all His saints. 13 So that He may, “HE” who? Lord Jesus may establish your hearts unblameable in holiness before our God and Father at the “PAROUSIA” of our Lord Jesus with ALL his saints.

Here is the PAROUSIA that we should be looking at which has its fulfillment here in 1 Thess. 3:13, for here both the Lord God and Father Himself is shown in the action; but there is just no mention of God the Father coming, WHY? Because as you see in sequence of authority first God is shown, then the Jesus the Messiah. So to show that God is not coming in this chapter is to show that Jesus the Messiah is coming, and has come already. These verses say nothing about those who are alive and remain shall be caught up into the air! That teaching in this chapter is FALSE! WHY?  Verse 12, “And may the Lord cause you to increase and bound in love for one another, and for all men, just as we also do for you”. THERE IS NO RAPTURE SEEN IN THIS COMING!

# 5.   Now may we examine the teaching of 1 Thess.? Chapter 4, we have already used verse 13, “we do not want you brethren to be ignorant” WHY? As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming”, Eph. 4:14, therefore, you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free, John 8:32. This is another devastating strike against the modern day pre-tribbers, who would not Know the truth if they were choked on it!

A.  1 Thess. 4:15, “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so {we believe that} God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus”. If you notice carefully, this verse shows action. 1. Belief. 2. Some one is coming, or asleep in Jesus, it is God here that is moving, it is God here that is coming.

B. Since I have made a firm statement in the above paragraph, it becomes my responsibility to prove the statement, that it is God in this chapter that is coming. In short, it is the PAROUSIA of God, not Christ. I must, I think, do a private Investigation into this Mystery of God, as per His instructions, Rom. 12:2, “ PROVE WHAT THE WILL OF GOD IS”. Since it is God who is coming, we must look for prophecy of that event, we look first at Ezekiel 37:26-28, “And I will make a Covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting Covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them, and will set My Sanctuary in their midst forever, 27, My dwelling place also will be with them; and I will Be their God, and they will be my people. 28, and the nations will know that I am The Lord who sanctifies Israel, when My Sanctuary is in their midst forever”.

C. We understand that God is moving His Sanctuary to a new location. We also remember that God dwelled among this people in the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle, and Temple; but returned to His Sanctuary in Heaven because of the sins of the people. Now following His decree to move His Sanctuary to be In the midst of His people forever; we can understand what He meant in the Mystery of dry bones in Ezek. 37:1-25. He would restore the Spiritual Covenant and raise up those who would come to receive it through the Messiah, those who rejected it would be put to the sword. Jew and Gentile would enjoy the restored Zion, Isa. 49:1-26, Isa. 52:1-9.He would make them one nation, Eph. 2:8-16. He would create New conditions, A New heaven and earth, He permitted Himself to be found by those who did not seek Him {Gentiles} Isa. 65:1-25, so God is not only preparing a new place for both Jew and Gentile; but also for self.

# 6.   Ezek. 40:1-2, “In the twenty fifth year of our exile, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth of the month, in the fourteenth year after the city was taken, on that same day the hand of the Lord {GOD} was upon me and He brought me there, 2, In the vision of God He brought me into, the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain; and on it to the south there was a structure like a city”.

A. Ezek. 43:6-7,”Then I heard one speaking to me from the house, while a man was

Standing beside me, 7, and He said to me, Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the Place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell among the sons of Israel forever”.

B. Well, Well, there can be no question about the land that God is moving to, can there?
This structure like a city, could this be what most people accept as Ezekiel’s temple, or could it be the city that Abraham was looking for which has foundations whose architect and builder was God, Heb. 11:10.I suggest that this city was the one mentioned by Abraham, as well as the one mentioned by the Apostle, Heb. 13: 14, “For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come”.

# 7.   Revelation 21:1-6, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea, 2, and I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a Bride adorned for her husband, 3, And I heard a loud voice from the Throne, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He shall dwell among them, and They shall be His people, and God Himself shall be among them, 4, And He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall no longer be any death; there shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away, 5, And He who sits on the throne said, Behold, I am making all things New. And He said, write, for these words are faithful and true, 6, And He said to me, IT IS DONE.  Already I have the first question:  What happened to the Old Heaven? God never annihilates anything but regenerates and recreates.

A.  THIS LINK GOES BACKWARD TO 1 THESS. 4:15, I suggest that I have accomplished the investigation into the Mystery of God, and NOW when the Mystery is revealed clearly, we find that in 1 Thess. 4:15, that it is God who is moving His Sanctuary to His new location, and as He moves, He brings with Him those who are asleep in Jesus the Messiah.

B.  Just in case there are those who questions the above evidence, and says, “well, there ought to be more evidence than what you have presented, I have believed in this rapture all my life, even my father, and his father, Christ is God and God is Christ, God would come first if what you say is true”. {Actual statement}. Hummm? Well, Well, we are not through yet. So lets go to Zechariah the prophet, Chapter 14:1-5, here we have the account of the destruction of Israel, and Jerusalem, then in verses 4 and 5, we have some events that follows a clear sequence, first, verse 4, what do we have here; we have the Messiah standing on the Mount of Olives, and we have the mountain splitting in the middle, leaving a valley between both sides, WHY is the mountain split in the middle?  Have you forgotten the crossing of the Red Sea by the Israelites, and how that the Sea was parted to allow Israel to pass through on dry land, then it closed up, no sign of it today: this served as a pattern for this event. The Remnant had to escape. Please read Micah 2:12-13, the Remnant is led out of Jerusalem by the Shepherd, walking through the main gate, and passing through the front lines of Rome, were never heard or seen. Verse 5, you will flee by the valley of My mountains…”THEN THE LORD, MY GOD WILL COME AND ALL THE HOLY ONES WITH HIM”. So then, the sequence here is that Christ the Messiah comes to oversee the destruction of Jerusalem, AND THEN after this event is finished, GOD comes. He is the last to come. Christ was the first to come.

C.  IT IS URGENT THAT WE INTRICATELY STUDY THE WORD “THEN” in language of the world, the word can be an adv. or adj. or conj. However in this case the word is a Noun, it is a noun because it calls your attention to an event, that is well known and well understood, in this case with Zech. 14:5, it draws your attention to God moving His Sanctuary, in 1 Thess. 4:17,”Then” draws your attention to the beginning of the Spiritual Covenant, when those who belongs to Christ will at shedding of the body be caught up also to meet the Messiah in the air. The word “then” in Zech. 14:5 breaks the connection between v 5 and v 4, where in 1 Thess. 4:17, it breaks the connection between Vs 13-16; I believe the word refers to sequence and time.

Events can be instantaneous moments in time or they can be referred to as an event that is itself a process through time, and can be used as a noun, likewise, the term “then” can refer to a event that begins to take place at a given time, even if that given time itself is not a instantaneous moment such as is foretold in 1 Thess. 4:13-17, this time was known by the God head; but not even Christ knew the exact time, it was therefore a time known by God, so it was a time period, a time frame, a window in which these things would occur. Once again we look at Zech. 14: “And then the Lord My God shall come, and all the holy ones with Him”. Some modern literature has the“Him” in this verse announced as Christ. If that were true, then we have an incomplete sentence, secondly, it is fragmented. I would not argue this point, though I could. My concern rather is to show that the event of the “second coming”, and of the “moving” of God’s Sanctuary demanded a first century fulfillment, and might I add there is found no place in Scripture where the word “Rapture” is a word of prophecy!

# 8.   BUT WAIT THAT IS NOT ALL!  There is another LINK, which we must consider, for this link you will do well to follow with your Bible as we speak to you. Turn to 1Cor. 15:23,24, “But each in His own order: Christ the first fruits, After that those who are Christ’s at His coming, THEN COMES THE END, when He delivers up the kingdom TO THE GOD AND FATHER, when He has abolished all rule and authority and power”. {Kingdom was God’s old Kingdom}.

A. NOW what do we have here, that will help to establish the point of truth? Recognize that the Holy Spirit through Paul is making the argument for the Resurrection for all saints just as was done in 1 Cor. 15:12-22. Then what is so strange about the phrase in 1 Thess. 4:17,”THEN”- Then what? The word Then separates the first 2 resurrections from the resurrection of this age, which is covered in detail in 2 Cor. 5:1-10, and here it is clear that the saints of this age will be caught up to the Lord. “We who are ALIVE AND REMAIN shall be caught up”. The Holy Spirit has here made a pledge that the saints of this age will not be Held in bondage separated from the presence of God; but will be caught up at the Time of separation from the body. And that is a truth that is proven Scripturally.

B.  First, 1 Cor. 15:23 truthfully states that when the Messiah comes, those saints that are His, will come with Him. This coming is separated from the event of the next verse. In brief, His coming precedes the next event, and the next event will show that God is still in Heaven at this period of time. Notice, When He delivers up the Kingdom to the God and Father, compare this to Heb. 2:15, and Eph. 4:8. The point here is that the coming of the Messiah preceded, The Messiah who delivered up to God, God’s own Kingdom those who were God’s from the fall of Adam to the Cross of Christ. God now has His saints, so we see God coming after the coming of Christ in Zech. 14:5, and so the pattern is set. Christ comes first in 1 Thess. 3:13, with all His saints, secondly following the pattern we have God coming first again in 1 Thess. 4:14. The sequence follows throughout the Old and New Testament.

C. 1 Thess. 4:15-16, is now made clear, the resurrection of the saints is here fully explained, however there is no statement made as to Christ coming with all His Saints… Christ’s coming is given in 1 Thess. 3:13. Notice, 15, “For this we say to you by the word of the Lord {God}, that we who are alive, and remain”. “ Who are alive and remain”, this indicates a separate group of people which is not included in 1 Thess. 3:13, nor or they among those whom God will bring with Him when He comes, 1 Thess. 4:14. Verse 16,”for the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first”. The link to this revelation is found in 1 Cor. 15:23, the only thing different is that in 1 Cor. 15:23, “But each in His own order, AFTER THAT those who are Christ’s at His coming”. The Holy Spirit here in 1 Thess. 4:15-16, is simply explaining what is going to happen at the Coming of Christ FIRST, and then SECONDLY the coming of God. He is using the chain of Scriptures, just as I have done to show you that the coming of Christ with His resurrection of His saints is found in 1 Thess. 3:13, rather than chapter 4. The word Lord in verses 15 and 16 refers back to the person or object, which constitutes the subject, in this case the subject of chapter 4:13-16, is God and His coming.
1 Thess. 4:17, is quite another subject, it requires some mind changing in regards to life and death. Spiritual life vs., Physical life. Going now to be with Christ, or being held in Hades. What is the plan of verse 17? First, there is a pressing need to read out Revelation 20:10-15, ask your self has this event been fulfilled? If your answer is no, then you need to read Rom. 12:2, “PROVE WHAT THE WILL OF GOD IS. You cannot know the truth unless you read Matthew 5:17, along with Col. 1:13-26, Verse 25 and 26, “Of this Church I was made a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, that I might fully carry out the preaching of the word of God. That is the MYSTERY which has been hidden from the past ages and Generations BUT HAS NOW BEEN MANIFESTED TO HIS SAINTS”. The Mystery has now been manifested, is past tense. A good link to this Statement is Matthew 24:1-34, the Generation of Christ would not pass away until all these things come to pass. Also Luke 21:20-32, Eph. 1:3-9, notice verse 7, “In Him we have redemption through His blood”. A simple question; can you have a redemption without a Resurrection? Redemption and Resurrection is the subject of verse 9. In Heb. 2:14, when the Messiah destroyed the power of Satan, who held the departed spirits in the Hadean realm, what happened to those spirits that the Messiah purchased Back? Did they remain in the Hadean realm, or was they Resurrected? To properly answer this question, please read out Hosea 6:1-3, then look at Matthew 26: 51-53, was this a Resurrection in Matt. 26:51-53? If not, why not?

D. Second, Eph. 3:3, 5:32, 6:19, Rom. 16:25, 1 Cor. 2:7, 4:1, 13:2, all makes the same conclusion as does Rev. 10:7, which reads, “but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is ABOUT to sound, then the Mystery of God is Finished, as He preached to His servants the Prophets”. To finish the message of Rev. 10:7, we look at Rev. 16:17,”And the seventh Angel poured out his bowl upon the air; and a loud voice came out of the Temple from the throne, saying, IT IS DONE”. It is manifested, finished, Fulfilled, according to Matt. 5:17. The last trumpet sounded in 70 AD. That’s IT.

E. Now as we look at the Resurrection scene for the saints of the Messiah under The New Spiritual Covenant, we cannot help ourselves unless we look at 2 Cor. 5:1-10, Here we find that the righteous departed spirits go from earth straight to Heaven where there is a prepared Spiritual body awaiting us, prepared by Christ. Here on earth when the righteous spirit sheds its earthly body, the spirit No longer goes to the Hadean realm, rather to Heaven, ref, 1 Cor. 15:50-53. Verse 10, our coming before the judgment seat of Christ to be recompensed for our works. So the Prophets messages that was unknown until the Holy Spirit came after the death of Christ and revealed the meaning of all the Mysteries, therefore, all Mysteries was in the first century, revealed, and fulfilled. 2 Cor. 5:1-10 remains as the only revelation that is still on going.

F.   An honest study and acceptance of the clear and precise meaning of this word, “Parousia” by those who hold the futurist position would turn the world up side down, it would destroy their theories and their carefully structured system. And the futurist as NATURAL men would no longer stand! I have mentioned natural men, by using that phrase, I simply mean, that there Is a natural man, and then there is a spiritual man, the New Testament was Given by the Spiritual, a natural man is physical and cannot understand the things given by God, the Spiritual things are foolishness to him he takes them literal and not spiritual 1 Cor. 2:12-16.

I observe that the futurist who may read the truth in this lesson, which you abhor, and since you do not see the truth, nor correct your teaching of error in regards to the Gospel of Christ, I SUGGEST THAT YOU HAVE HIT TWO OBJECTS IN THE ROAD THAT YOU ARE TRAVELLING: THEY ARE 2 TIM. 2:15, 2 TIM. 3:16, AS A RESULT WE ALL SHOULD STUDY WITH EACH OTHER AND NOT CASTIGATE EACH OTHER, WE SHOULD LEARN TOGETHER THE TRUTH OF GODS WORD. EVERY SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED.

God is not responsible; rather man is. All the above comings of both God and Christ were during the time of law, the Law of Moses; this Law did not pass away until A. D. 70. So remember that God was in command until Christ This lesson affirms the total fulfillment of all prophecy, Matt. 5:17, Luke 21:20-32, Matt. 24: 1-34, Luke 24:44. Many have denied both Christ, & God. On these subjects, also if you have denied the Word of God given by the Holy, Spirit, YOU have Blasphemed the Holy Spirit, and there is no forgiveness In this life or the life to come, Matt. 12:32. The doctrine of future fulfillment leads to Premillenialism, dispensationalism, universalism, and annihilationism. That’s not all, the results of believing in the 4 above “ism’s,” allows for ungodly doctrines to arise, such as, the belief and teaching that there is no sin in this age; that all sin was done away in 70. A D. If so why did Christ give the cure for sin in Rom. 6:1-23, and 1 John? 1: 6-10, why even teach the Bible, if we do not BELIEVE. Why did the Holy Spirit bother to address the question of sin in Acts 2:4-46? You who believe such, and will not bother to STUDY, I have no compassion for you. This brings to surface the teaching and belief that there is no more distinction between woman and man, that God allows for women to have as much authority as the man. If this be true Why bother to write 1 Cor. 14:26-38, 1 Tim. 1:12. Remember Gen. 8:20-22, READ IT. God will never again destroy the earth as He did but allows mankind to destroy Himself & the WORLD! Wow, look at the world today. Ratified the New Covenant after the destruction of Jerusalem, ref Luke 21: 20-32, v-22” “these are the days of vengeance this was God’s people that were being destroyed, He is punishing His people. FOR WHAT? For not obeying His Word, as He spoke it; they had turned away from God.. So who was responsible for this destruction? The people, the Jews. Why? Because in Gen. 8:20-22 God made a Covenant to Himself, saying, “I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man’s heart is evil from his youth; and never again will I destroy every living thing, as I have done”. So man is responsible for world conditions today, not God, not Christ. In all the world, Humanism is destroying the people, with the doctrine of “Do what feels good to you, there is no Heaven or hell, God will save you anyway”.  O, O.

Appendage A

The above title APPENDAGE is offered in final support of my position on the Biblical subject of 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17, and in support of the “second coming” of Jesus the Messiah and the end of the old World Heb. 8:13, and Heb. 9:26. In 1 Thessalonians 3:13. The ancient sources used herein was with-held in the original lesson “A second look at 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17. In that lesson I set forth my position on the subject; but intentionally left off the documentation; this was done to create study and discussions, as well as debate. My purpose has been fulfilled. Now I offer the documentation of ancient scholars within the arena of fulfilled prophecy.

To make this Appendage clear and effective, I will set forth my position in a manner that cannot be misunderstood. {1} I believe that 1 Thess. 3:13 clearly teaches the “Second Coming” of Jesus the Messiah; and that Matt. 24:30 through 34, as well as 25:31-34; and Luke 21: 20-32, all teaches the “second coming” and the final closings of the Old World when God gives to Christ His reign. And preparing His { Christ’s} Bride; making Her ready for the Bridegroom, and the end of the dispensation of law; and not the end of the universe; but the beginning of the Spiritual Covenant; during the generation, which Christ lived. When Christ received the “Mandate”; and then will be the end when He {Christ} shall have delivered up the Kingdom to God. 1 Cor. 15:24. Did not God have a Kingdom before Christ? Yes, then this end does not address the end, or destruction of the universe. It addresses the end to God’s reign when Princes and sovereigns shall be transferred over to Christ; 1 Pet. 3:22. {2} I do not believe that 1 Thess. 3:13 teaches a resurrection. Resurrection is silent in 3:13. {3} I Scripturally believe that 1 Thess. 4:14-17 is made clear as to the intricate details of the four verses in consideration. Further, I consider the Syriac Peshitto Version as being the appropriate version to use, as it gives a more direct approach to propinquity, resemblance; and similarity, and thus expresses as near as possible an approach to accuracy.

Therefore, this appendage could be considered a Postulation of the events, which follows.

{1} I believe that 1 Thess. 4: 14-15 belongs to God, as the Supreme Being at this time.

{2} I believe that 1 Thess. 4:16, is relevant to the Messiah receiving the “Mandate” from God. And ‘mandate’ An authoritative requirement, as of a sovereign ; command; order; charge’. this simply shows the Messiah as having all power and authority in Heaven and on earth.

Further, that verse 17 shows the “Messiah’s authority to govern His kingdom in judgment and future Resurrection; which John 14: 1-5; and 2 Cor. 5:1-10 fully explains in simple terms as to the

Resurrection of Saints under Christianity after the “Messiah” took His Bride the Church.

In the lesson “A second look at 1 Thess. 4:14-17; indeed I have set forth the position that

1 Thess. 3:13 foretold the “second coming of the “Messiah” as imminent with no further details following. In 1 Thess. 4:14-17, I have set forth the Scriptural argument that it is God who is coming in verses 14-15; that it is God who is raising the departed spirits of those who had obeyed the Gospel of Christ; and who had not departed from that faith. 2 Cor. 4:14; “knowing that He who resuscitated our Lord Jesus, will also resuscitate us by Jesus, and will receive us with you, to Himself”. I have considered that all of God’s plans were finished before the foundation of the World. Heb. 4:3; also I consider Col. 1: 12-20, verses 12-13; The Apostle said that God has rescued us from the domain of darkness into the Kingdom of His beloved Son. Just a thought; if God was not in power at this time, how could He transfer the Apostle and others into the Kingdom of Christ.  I see where this fits into the whole plan of God; the time when the two came together for God to give over the reign of government to Christ His Son; and receive the Old Kingdom.

Transfer of power and rule here is a pattern for all nations of the world.

God—not the “Messiah”, who delivered the saints from the domain of darkness into the Kingdom

Of His Beloved Son. In addition, it was the Son who created all things according to God’s eternal plan, and it was created by Him—“Messiah”, and for Him. Col. 1;16-18. Christ was the Executor of God’s plan. Christ as old as God, Prov. 8:22-30. I believe that God had a time when all His plans would come together; a time that only God knew. It was not at the cross; it was not in

Matt. 16:28; it was not in Luke 19:12-20, it was not in Zechariah 14:1-5; but it began in Ezek. 37:26-28; Ezek. 40:1-2; 43: 6-9; Zech. 14:1-9; and fully came together as Paul understood it in 1 Thess. 3: 13; and 1 Thess. 4:12-17; When Christ became Kings of Kings, Zech. 14:9.

Here is where Christ comes together with God in order to receive the “Mandate” of power and authority to rule over His own Kingdom, the one He received from God in Dan. 7:13-14; the Kingdom which would never be destroyed, nor would it ever end; the dispensation of Eternity.

No, there is no evidence in 1 Thess. 3:13, that “Messiah” had received the “Mandate” of Authority and power at this time. The Holy Spirit is silent on this issue at this time.

So, at this time I beg time to “REMINISCE”.

As a young Cherokee boy of nine years of age, and in the middle of the great depression, never at this time had I attended school. I had hunted and fished with my father, that was one sure way of obtaining food, I would watch him as he sat in the woods and swamps hunting Squirrels, he would wait and allow the squirrels to come out and play, when they came close together he would shoot and would always kill 2 Squirrels with one shot gun shell. He gave me his shot gun, and said here is two shells, shoot only once; but bring back two Squirrels, or Rabbits, or Ducks, or quail. Never shoot your last shell, save it for an emergency. A Bear may step out from behind a tree, or a Panther. So, I have applied that old Cherokee adage to my study of the Bible. Never shooting all my shells at any one object.

1 Thess. 4:14-15, Syriac Peshitto Version, “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them who sleep, will God, by Jesus bring with Him, {15} And this we say to you, by the word of our Lord, that we who may survive and be alive, at the coming of our lord, shall not precede them who has slept”. See, 1 Cor. 15:12-23.

Is there any Scripture where the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul informs us in no uncertain terms who will be conducting the Resurrection of 1 Thess 4: 14-17? Perhaps so; if we care to accept it.  2 Cor. 4: 14, Syriac Peshitto Version, “Knowing that He, who resusciated our Lord Jesus, will also Resusciate us by Jesus, and will receive us, with you, to Himself.”

Wycliffe Bible Commentary on 2 Cor. 4:14, Page 1270, translated Alfred Henry, Rivington London

1872. “The past and the future, 4: 14, the Resurrection of believers is here presented with reference to its {1} Author, He which raised up the Lord Jesus cf. Acts 3:26; {2} Time—shall raise up (cf. 1 Cor. 15:51-52; 1 Thess. 4:13ff.}  {3} Cause—Also with Jesus {ASV}  {cf. 1 Cor. 15:20-23}

{4} Purpose- shall present us with you {cf. Eph. 5:27; 1 Thess. 2:19-20.

            Wycliffe’s Bible Commentary page 1355 on 1 Thess. 4:14-15, Alford Henry, 1872.

“If we believe, and we do believe is the idea conveyed by the Greek construction, Jesus died, sleep will not do here. Christ took the full cup of death that He might triumph over it {Heb. 2:14-15}. And rose again. His triumph assures ours {cf. 1 Thess. 1:10}. God is emphatic here. He who raised Jesus is Guarantor and Agent of our Resurrection. Sleep in Jesus is sleep through Jesus, the idea being that through Him death is transformed into sleep. With Him, Paul answers the major question: dead believers will not miss the “Parousia”, God will see to it that they accompany Christ on His triumphal return {3:13}”.

Verse 15, “By the word, gives authority to Paul’s statements {cf. 1 Cor. 7:10}. The source

Of the word is uncertain. Among the possible sources {1} Matt. 24:30-31 and parallel passages; {2} An unrecorded saying of Christ {cf. Acts 20:35}; {3} a special revelation from the Lord

{cf. 2 Cor. 12:1; Gal. 1:12-16; 2:2}.  We, which are alive, Paul frequently stresses the imminence of Christ’s return {1 Cor. 7:29; Phil 4:5. Like all believers, he hoped to live to share in the event

{1 Cor 16:22; Rev. 22:20}. Without stating that Christ would come during his lifetime, he seemed to welcome the possibility {cf. 1 Cor. 15:51 ff}.”

Syriac Peshitto Version on 1 Thess. 4:16-17 “Because our Lord will Himself descend from Heaven, with the MANDATE, and with the voice of the chief angel, and with the trump of God; and the dead who are in the Messiah, will first arise; {17} “ And then we who survive and are alive shall be caught up together with them to the clouds to meet our Lord in the air”.

            Wycliff’s Bible Commentary page 1355-1356 on 1 Thess. 4:16-17. Alford Henry 1872.

The all-important fact is that the Second Advent centers in the activity of the Lord Himself. The terse phrases add to the drama: {1} with a shout, a call of command like that of an officer to his soldiers, probably given by the Lord; {2} with the voice, etc, may be an explanation of the shout; both voice and archangel are indefinite in the Greek, and the idea is probably a voice such as an archangel uses, as Milligan suggests; {3} with the trump of God, a trumpet dedicated to God’s service {Milligan 1 Cor 15:52} Paul twice mentions a trumpet in connection with the second coming {cf. Joel 2:1; Isa. 27:13;Zech.9:14. Dead bodies the bodies of believers. First. Dead believers will precede all others. {17} “We which are alive see 4:15 shall be caught up together with them. Members of Christ’s Body will be reunited with each other as well as with the great head. The Clouds adds to the mystery and drama of the event of Matt. 24:30; Acts 1:9; Rev. 1:7 added to that is John 14:1-5; 2 Cor. 5:1-10.”

My emphasis, it seems that 2 Cor. 5:1-10 answers any question in regards to Resurrection

Of Christians under the Gospel banner, and answers 1 Thess. 4:17 completely.

Jesus speaks in verse 17 regarding Resurrection under His Covenant rule. He is setting the rules

He now has the power and Authority. Matt. 28:18, has been fulfilled.

            ISA. 9:6-7.

Ezekiel 37:26-28; God is moving His Sanctuary. His Sanctuary will be among His people Spiritual Israel. His new Sanctuary is shown in Ezek. 40:1-2; and Ezek 43:7-9; Rev. 21:1-6.

Wycliffe Bible Commentary, Zechariah by F Gardiner 1884 London Cassell, P-910.

My Sanctuary; The Temple as the dwelling place of the Lord made Holy by His presence. My Tabernacle; {mishkan} shall be with them, literally over them; on higher ground, see 40:2; Isa.

2:2; Micah 4:1; protecting them or sanctifying them. I Will Be Their God; see also 11:20; 14:11; 36:28. I Do Sanctify Israel; God comes down to dwell permanently on earth among man, Transforming earth into Heaven {cf. 43: 7-9; 48: 8, 10; 21}.

See Zechariah 14:1-9. Wycliffe Bible Commentary; By Meyer F. B. “The Prophet of Hope” 1900; Fleming H. Revell Company New York.

“The day of the Lord cometh. The Prophet reverts to the theme of the world confederacy against Jerusalem already treated in chapter 12. The Time is that which precedes Messiah’s return to earth. The day is peculiarly the Lord’s Day, the great and terrible day of the Lord; Joel 2:1; Acts

Acts 2:14-20. Thy spoil shall be divided among thee. Jerusalem is seen as already experienced the sorrow of defeat. Her enemies in leisurely manner divide the spoil in the midst of the city.

I Will Gather All Nations. The result of the invasion was given in verse 1; now the occasion is presented. The Lord Sovereignty draws the Nations—infested through the centuries with the virus of hatred for Israel, and desirous of dealing them a final deathblow—to the city of the coming King. The City Shall Be Taken. It is the familiar picture of a city that has been defeated, its property confiscated, its woman-hood violated, and its population demoralized and scattered.

Verse 3. “Then Shall The Lord Go Forth. When the out look appears the darkest The Lord, the Man of war {cf. Ex 15:3} will come forth to champion their forlorn cause”. Verse 4. “His Feet Shall Stand In That Day Upon The Mount Of Olives. Words cannot express more plainly the personal return of the Lord Jesus in power. The Mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst. East of Jerusalem, this mountain affords a formidable barrier to one seeking escape from the city. The bewildered people will have this way of escape supernaturally formed for them”.

            {My emphasis JEM} Lets make this event of the Mount of Olives cleaving in the midst clear, see Exodus 14:15-31, we have here the pattern of the Mount of Olives cleaving in its middle to allow the Remnant to pass through with the safety of the Lord Jesus leading them to safety;

Micah 2:11-13; then as the waters of the sea closed up at the Lord’s command, so did the mountain close and seal itself as if nothing had ever happened. This is where we have the Lord Jesus, and the Lord God coming together after the destruction to close out the old dispensation,

And for God to raise the dead, 2 Cor. 4:14, and the resurrection of 1 Thess. 4:14-15, and of God giving the Lord Jesus the “Mandate” of power, to lay down His terms of Resurrection under the

Spiritual Covenant, {cf. 1 Thess. 4:17} Now He would take His Bride the Church. All power, and

Authority was now fulfilled in Christ. Rev. 21:6.

Verse 5. Wycliffe Bible Commentary, page 910.

“The Lord My God Shall Come, And All The Saints With Thee. It will be the glorious appearing of the Son of God, the Lord God Himself, with His saints and the Holy angels. Zech. 14:6-21, the

Messiah’s Holy Kingdom”.  {cf. 1 Thess. 3:13; 1 Thess. 4:16-17}.

My prayer is that this Appendage to 1 Thess. 3:13; and 1 Thess. 4:12-17, as is outstanding in my lesson “A Second look at 1 Thess. 4:12-17, will help someone to obtain a better understanding of the “Second Coming “, and of the resurrection. This is not done to be critical of those who hold a different view of this subject. This is my view and is not binding on anyone.

After having done extensive research into the early Church fathers from Barnabus; first and second Clement through more than 200 writers in the first 3 centuries up to and through Constantine who was baptized into the Church of Christ, and who before his death wrote many

Articles in regards to Salvation; then through Athanasius who was bishop of several Churches, and who was cast out of many Churches for teaching on the subjects of Resurrection and fulfilled

Prophecy; yet he lived until a natural death came upon him in 373 A.D. His most graceful teaching

Which caused most of his problems were “WHAT MORE IS THERE TO BE FULFILLED”.

I suggest that the book of Philo a Bishop in Alexandra Egypt in the early centuries of the Church

Will be helpful to understand first Century Church Doctrines. The Early Christian fathers; Oxford Press. Is without doubt is in regards to Early Church Doctrines. Then there is the early writer the Shepherd of Hermas which is an aprocryphal book, yet on chapters 4 and 5 shows evidence that it was written before the destruction of Israel; although an aprocryphal book it contains Scriptural evidence of what was happening in the first Century.

I further observe that early Church fathers, and leaders suffered many hardships simply

Because they taught the Holy Scriptures. But even though they suffered; they did not give up, or

Turn away from God. Many lost their lives; their families. But I observed that the people of that age long ago was not much different from people today. The people of the first centuries A.D.

Did not keep the command of the Holy Spirit 2 Tim. 2:15; 2 Tim. 3:16. Nor do they today; but will argue with anger over some Biblical teaching they know nothing about, neither have they studied it.

It is now, and has been my policy to be open minded in regards to my teaching of fulfilled prophecy, I realize that not all fulfilled prophecy is matters which our Salvation is predicated upon. I have tried very hard not to write in such way as to give the reader the idea that I am making a test of fellowship on subjects that our Salvation is not predicated. On subjects concerning fulfilled prophecy; which our Salvation is not predicated; I have suggested before, and

Do so now, after I do my research and test a lesson by others, I feel that I have the God given right

To produce that lesson as research demands; therefore, the other writer has the same right as I; but we do not have the right to openly and publicly announce this person as a false teacher. That

Is what has caused many Churches to split, and for more denominations to exist. The Holy Spirit

Guided Paul to say to Timothy 2:15, “study to show thyself approved by God”; 3:16, “ALL Scripture is inspired by God, and is profitable for teaching”.

I Pray that we all can come to this.   GOD BLESS.
